How long you have been a referee: 10 years
What is it about refereeing that you enjoy: I love staying connected to volleyball in a meaningful way and meeting other people who are also passionate about this game. I enjoy continuously learning and improving my skills as a referee.
Your favourite memory or story: One of the perks of refereeing is getting to travel for games or tournaments. I always look forward to attending youth nationals each year and reconnecting with officials, coaches, and players from across the country. We work long days, but it’s so rewarding!
A tough moment you experienced and how you overcame it: Getting called up last minute to second referee my first college game. I was nervous but confident in my abilities. My referee mentor happened to be the first referee in this game and helped keep me calm and focused. Of course, it wasn’t a perfect game (it never is), but as a team, we managed it well. I learned a lot from the experience and grew as a person and referee
